2019-7-11 学佛答疑
I am Shengzhong,a lay Buddhist,a chinese.I am very poor standard of
english, however, many people are asking who was the real buddha, but no
one answers. So,I will answer this question based on what I have learned
and what I have come to understand.
who was the real buddha?
I
think everyone will ask this because there are so many popular Buddha
statues nowadays, and many people want to know what the real Buddha
looks like.Another possibility is that many people confuse Buddha with
Buddha himself.
I will answer this in two parts:
First,What exactly does Buddha look like?
In
the Buddhist scriptures, it is said that all forms are illusory. The
"Forms",It's just the appearance, phenomenon, and appearance. The Buddha
statues are the same, they are all illusions.
This means that all things in the world can represent the appearance of Buddha, that is to say, all things are Buddhas.
The famous monk of the Song Dynasty in China,FoYin Zen Master, said, "If there is a Buddha in the heart, and all eyes are within reach, they are all Buddhas."
In Chinese, this sentence means:
心中有佛,目光所及,皆是佛!
Secondly, what is the difference between Buddha and Buddha himself?
The
so-called 'Buddha' refers to a person who fully understands and reaches
the realm of Buddha himself. The meaning is that anyone who reaches the
realm of Buddha himself is a Buddha.
And
"Buddha himself" refers to Shakyamuni Buddha.Shakyamuni Buddha is the
founder of Buddhism, and in Chinese, he is a character similar to
"ancestors".There is only one Buddha ancestors, and there are thousands of Buddhas!
In Chinese, this sentence means:
佛祖只一尊,佛有千万尊!
Due to limited English proficiency, the expression is not very clear. Please forgive me. Amitabha!
